The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Corey Hebert, on Monday, April 29, entered a plea of guilty on the charges of possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substance, to wit: fentanyl; and possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance, to wit: heroin.

Funeral services for Hilton “Breezy” Chapman were held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. with visitation which began at 11 a.m. at Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Burial followed in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pauline LeBas LeCoq, a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 57. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
