HOUMA - A five-run lead was not enough for the Sacred Heart baseball squad as Covenant Christian went on a merry-go-round ride that produced seven runs on only two singles in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hebert is sentenced to 40 years

Corey Hebert, on Monday, April 29, entered a plea of guilty on the charges of possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substance, to wit: fentanyl; and possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance, to wit: heroin.

Funeral services for Hilton “Breezy” Chapman were held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. with visitation which began at 11 a.m. at Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Burial followed in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
