UL Lafayette to conferred 1,608 degrees during Spring 2024 Commencement The University of Louisiana at Lafayette celebrated its Spring 2024 graduates during Commencement ceremonies May 10 and 11. A total of 1,608 degrees were conferred.

Update is given on costs of VPHS track

By: TONY MARKS Editor Baton Rouge based architect Marcus Williams, of Williams Architecture, presented the Evangeline Parish School Board with an updated cost analysis on the proposed track at Ville Platte High School. The analysis was presented to the board during its meeting on Wednesday, May 15.

Anderson is convicted

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney's Office announced Blake K. Anderson's conviction on one count of second-degree rape on May 9. Anderson was sentenced to serve 22 years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
