15-Year-old is killed; suspect is charged with negligent homicide

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that, after midnight on Thursday, October 31, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a call about a 15-year-old juvenile being shot at a home on N. Morein St. The call was made by Christopher Marquees, age 31.

Water is run to Beaver Creek Cemetery

By: TONY MARKS Editor Traditionally, November is a time for Christians to honor their deceased family members and clean the graves of their loved ones. For residents of the Beaver community this task was burdensome because there was no water line running to the Beaver Creek Cemetery.

Early voting ends for November 5 election
