The Tri-Parish workforce drop by 241 people in September compared to September 2023, according to statistics released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission on Tuesday. The September workforce totaled 67,496, down from 67,737 in September 2023.

Close of books, early voting is announced for Dec. election

Registrar of Voters Lucas Buller would like to announce the close of books for the December 7, election. The last day to register in person or by mail is November 6, and the last day to register online using the geauxvote.com website is November 16.

Arrested were the following persons: • Wanski Arvie, 36, was arrested October 21, 2024, for failure to appear. Arvie was released on a $1,028.00 bond.
