Turkey Creek traffic stops lead to arrests

On February 12 th Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Maxima
for a minor traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver a Mr. Bryant
Hebert of Kaplan he seemed a little nervous and extremely talkative.
When the officers returned to the patrol vehicle to write out the
citation they could see Mr. Hebert moving around inside the vehicle
and reaching under the seat. Mr. Hebert was asked to step out of the
vehicle and K9 was deployed. A positive alert was observed by the K9
handler and a search was conducted. Presumed illegal narcotics were
located and Mr. Hebert was placed under arrest for Schedule I
narcotics and transported to the Evangeline parish jail for booking.
On February 22 nd Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda for a
minor traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver a Mrs. Francis

Stewart of Natchez Mississippi, officers could immediately the odor of
Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Mrs. Hebert was asked to step
out of the vehicle and K9 was deployed. After a positive alert was
observed from the K9 handler a search was conducted. Presumed
illegal narcotics were located and Mrs. Stewart was placed under
arrest and transported to the Evangeline Parish jail for booking.
