On March 18 th 2021 officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department
conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Upon
contact with the driver a Mr. Travonski Jones of Ville Platte officers
could smell the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After a
brief roadside interview it was learned that Mr. Travonski was in
possession of Marijuana and was issued a summons to appear in court
for the violation. Charges are R.S.40:966 Simple possession of
Marijuana
On March 20 th 2021 Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department
conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Upon
contact with the driver a Mr. Daniel Doyle of Sulphur officers observed
a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After conducting
a field interview and checking with central dispatch, it was learned that
Mr. Doyle had previous convictions for Marijuana and was also a
convicted felon in possession of illegal narcotics. Mr. Doyle was charged
with possession of Marijuana 2 nd subsequent and placed into custody,
and then transported to the parish jail for booking. Charges are R.S.
40:966 E/2 possession of Marijuana second or subsequent offense.
On March 20 th 2021 Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department
conducted surveillance operations on a residence located within the
jurisdiction of Turkey Creek. Enough evidence was obtained to have a
search warrant drafted and signed by the 13 th judicial court. Operations
took place to search the residence where presumed Crystal
Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other illegal items were
seized. Cory Hazelton of Turkey Creek and David Vincent of Turkey
Creek were both arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking.
Charges are R.S. 40:967 possession of Schedule II CDS, R.S. 40:981.3
Drug free zone, R.S. 40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia.
