In the early evening of December 5, 2020, Officers with Turkey Creek Police Department conducted a traffic
stop for a minor equipment violation, no license plate light. While the Officer was making contact with the
occupants, a pungent odor of marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. During the field interview
with the driver, Luiz Daniel Nazario, he revealed to the Officer that he purchased marijuana in Crowley and
that his female passenger had it in her possession. Nazario was detained and contact was made with the
passenger, Aleisha Danelle Frey, who admitted to being in possession of marijuana and was detained. Officers
located a container under the seat which held the suspected marijuana. A female Officer was summoned to
assist in the arrest, who discovered an additional amount of marijuana, which Frey attempted to conceal in
her pelvic area.
The vehicle was towed by Sooner’s Towing and Luiz Daniel Nazario was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail
for illegal possession of schedule I CDS, marijuana and illegal possession of CDS within a drug free zone.
Aleisha Danelle Frey was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for illegal possession of schedule I CDS,

One small infraction of the law, an equipment violation, led to the discovery of illegal narcotics. I would like to
remind everyone to report all suspicious activity by calling 337-363-3347 or 911 for emergencies and thank
you for your continued support. All callers will remain anonymous.
