Turkey Creek Mayor Phillip Cavins offered to introduce a proposed ordinance calling for a leash law during the village council meeting held Tuesday, March 30.
The mayor said, “I would like to propose this under the condition that we can go in and make some needed changes to the current ordinance that we had gotten from Pine Prairie. I would like to make some changes before our public hearing.”
However, Councilman Neal King expressed he would like to see the amended ordinance before the council takes any action on the issue.
Councilman Kurry Stewart moved to propose the ordinance, but Councilman King expressed his reservations and again said he wanted to look at the ordinance before the vote.
The matter and the public hearing were tabled until a future meeting
