Prosecutors with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office obtained a 36 count grand jury indictment in Evangeline Parish on Wednesday, April 10, regarding voter fraud between May and November of 2022 during the general election.
The Evangeline Parish Grand Jury indicted current Alderman Christina Sam for:
Eighteen counts of La. R.S. 18:1461.2 Election Offenses Affecting Registration and Election Fraud or Forgery
Eighteen counts of La. R.S. 14:133 Filing or Maintaining False Public Records.
Sam was allegedly having people agree to vote for her in the November race, by changing their residential address to her district for the sole purpose of voting for her, and not with the intention to reside there indefinitely, as the law contemplates.
She will be arraigned in the coming weeks.
