On Saturday, March 8, the Ville Platte High School Marching Band concluded its season with a performance in Independence. The invitation to participate in the Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival Parade came after the band’s outstanding performance at the Mardi Gras festivities in Hammond. The band received 1st Place for Best Marching Group in the parade, a testament to the hard work and dedication of its members. Additionally, after performing for the judges this past weekend, the band is thrilled to announce it has received an invitation to headline at the Tangipahoa Parish Fair this fall, which is an exciting opportunity for the group. In other news, Blake Brumfield, pictured in the inset photo, has taken over as the director of bands this past January. “I am excited to bring leadership and my vision to the program as we continue to grow and succeed,” he said.
