Following the creation of the new Point Blue-Chataignier Water System, a $10 million grant was procured through the state’s Water Sector Program. The funds were used to construct a new water tower for the water system. In a statement on social media from State Representative Rhonda Butler, she says, “This funding will help modernize critical water infrastructure, strengthen our community’s resilience, and ensure families and businesses have access to reliable, safe water for years to come. This is a major step forward for our region.” Pictured above, in no particular order, are Representative Butler; Chief Engineer Ronald Landreneau with Tristan Soileau and Toby Landreneau; Rayburn Fontenot, board president; Curt Saucier, vice president; Mark Duplechain, secretary-treasurer; Freeman Celestine, Tony Rozas, and Mika Fontenot, directors; Keith Saucier, operator; Jackie LaFleur, office manager; and Allison Fontenot and Anna Mosbroker, office assistants.
