On May 1, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division opened an investigation
in reference to a possible attempted sexual assault involving two female victims. During the investigation, it
was discovered that the suspect gained entry into the victim’s residence without their permission.
Witnesses indicated that the suspect identified himself as a Law Enforcement Officer at a local bar in order to
gain their trust prior to the incident. While inside the residence, the suspect forced himself upon the female
victims with the intentions of preforming illegal acts on them. During the incident the victims were unclothed
and were touched inappropriately by the suspect. It was learned that the incident took place on the night of
April 30, 2023 into the morning hours of May 1, 2023.
The suspect was identified as Bobby Lee Trattles II W/M DOB 01/26/1994 of Ville Platte. He was later arrested
and charged with Two Counts of Attempted Second Degree Rape, Two Counts of Second-Degree Sexual
Battery, One Count of Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer, and One Count of Home Invasion. He is
currently being held in the Evangeline Parish Jail with a $140,000.00 bond.
