Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office releases the following:
On the 7 th of February 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit conducted a
search warrant on North Thompson Street in Ville Platte. Agents entered the residence and detained
several people. A search of the residence was conducted and illegal narcotics were located.

On the 9 th of February 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit conducted a
traffic stop on Washington street in Ville Platte. Agents made contact with the driver and conducted a
interview. A search of the driver and the vehicle was then conducted and illegal narcotics were located.

On the 11 th of February 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Traffic Unit conducted a stop
on a vehicle. Upon the Deputy making contact with the driver there was a overwhelming smell of
Marijuana coming from the car. The Deputy then conducted a probable cause search and located
narcotics and a firearm.
