Malcolm McKinney, a police officer with the Ville Platte Police Department, has filed a recall petition against the city’s chief of police, Al Perry Thomas.
Chief Thomas was elected in 2022 after his challenger, Chief Neal Lartigue, was disqualified from running in the election because he did not live inside the city limits.
