Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Ville Platte Police Department arrested 52-year-old Elrick Gallow and charged him with the Second Degree Murder of Keabreonna “KeKe” Doucet. In June 16, 2024, detectives from the Ville Platte Police Department began investigating the disappearance of 27-year-old Doucet, who was last seen June 15, 2024.
Initially, Gallow began as a person of interest. Throughout the course of the investigation, with the assistance of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police, evidence was obtained that led to the application of an arrest warrant that was approved and signed by Judge Chuck West. No bond has been set.
Chief Thomas thanks the EPSO, LSP, and, especially, VPPD’s Sergeant Darrian Guillory for her continued efforts in obtaining justice for KeKe. He hopes this will pave the way for her family to eventually get closure.
If you have any information about this case, please call the Ville Platte Police Department at 337-363-1316 and ask for Sergeant Guillory. Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
