The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
• Anthony Johntrey Aaron, 24, Basile, was arrested October 27, 2023, by the Basile Police Department for probation or parole violation. Aaron remains incarcerated on a no bond.
• Anthony Bias, 42, Mamou, was arrested October 26, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for driving under suspension and security required (no insurance). Bias was released on a $600.00 bond.
• Ashley Charlot (Freeman), 41, Ville Platte, was arrested October 29, 2023, by the Ville Platte Police Department for failure to appear for court. Charlot (Freeman) was released on a no bond.
• John Claude Fontenot, 34, Ville Platte, was arrested October 29, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for violation of protective orders. Fontenot was released on a no bond.
• Joshua Sylestine, 32, Basile, was arrested October 31, 2023, by the Basile Police Department for domestic abuse battery. Sylestine remains incarcerated on a no bond.
• John Shane Rideaux, 49, Port Barre, was arrested October 30, 2023, by Probation and Parole for probation or parole violation. Rideaux was released on a no bond.
• Casey Joseph Fontenot, 25, Oakdale, was arrested October 30, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for possession of firearm by a felon, domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, and cruelty to juveniles - minor injuries. Fontenot remains incarcerated on a no bond.
