Attempted murder suspect is wanted
The Mamou Police Department is further actively looking for a Kelsey Rochelle Mallet, who has been charged with attempted first degree murder after an altercation which also happened on Tuesday, during the Mardi Gras festivities just before 5 p.m.
Mallet, 25-year-old resident of Port Barre, allegedly stabbed 19-year-old Taylor Crump, of Opelousas, twice in the chest puncturing Crump’s lung. The victim was rushed to the local hospital by a Mamou Police Officer and has undergone surgery for her injuries. She is in stable condition.
Mallet is wanted by the Mamou Police Department and anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Mamou Police Department at 3374685221.
