Accident claims the life of victim

On the 25 th of March 2023 at approximately 12:53 am the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department responded to an
accident on Rocky Lane near LA. Hwy. 10. Upon arrival Deputies found a four-wheeler in the ditch and an unresponsive
male. There was another person on scene performing CPR on the unresponsive male. Acadian ambulance arrived on
scene and transported the victim to Savoy Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injury’s.
Deputies determined that Jared Seth Hebert of Ville Platte was traveling north on Rocky Lane, when he struck the back
of a four wheeler driven by Joseph Lane Deville. This caused Hebert to loose control of his four-wheeler causing it to
overturn and rest on top of Hebert, causing fatal injuries.
