Wilson’s 18 leads VPHS past Northwest

By: RHETT MANUEL Sports Editor VILLE PLATTE – The Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs got its District 4-3A slate jumped off on the right foot last Friday night, riding the shooting of senior guard Vandryua Wilson to a 50-42 win over Northwest.

Broussard leads Mamou past Teurlings

By: RHETT MANUEL Sports Editor MAMOU – The Mamou Green Demons are one of those boys basketball teams that, on a good night, are capable of competing with most teams they play. Much of that has to do with star forward Tyrian Broussard, who has shouldered the load most nights this year.

Kinder’s Courville is inducted into HOF

By: TONY MARKS LSN Sports Editor LAFAYETTE – Over the course of his coaching career at Kinder High School that spanned nearly two decades, Kenney Courville compiled a record of 409 wins and 181 losses.

SH hosts second annual powerlifting invitational

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Area schools competed in the second annual Sacred Heart Invitational, held Saturday, January 14. In the boys competition, Pineville placed first with 69 points, Sacred Heart placed second with 41 points, and Mamou placed third with 29 points.
