By: TONY MARKS Editor NATCHITOCHES- On a windy day, with gusts reaching in the double digits, student athletes from the around the state caught their second wind and were able to finish the race among the top 3 in each division at the LHSAA Cross Country State Meet.

By: TONY MARKS Editor BATON ROUGE - On a night when the up-and-coming Jake Paul knocked out perennial favorite Mike Tyson to win the heavyweight championship, Sacred Heart was hoping for a similar result in the first round of the Division IV Select football playoffs.

City teams compete in CASA Basketball Jamboree

By: TONY MARKS Editor PRAIRIE RONDE - Teams from both high schools in the City of Ville Platte competed in the CASA Basketball Jamboree on Saturday, November 16. The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans knocked the dust off their boots and picked up a come-from-behind win over Beau Chene.

Ashton Bias, of Ville Platte High School, was presented with his T-shirt for being named Player of the Week in Week 10. During a 55-28 loss to Church Point to close out the football season, the Ville Platte quarterback threw three touchdown passes.

SH closes out regular season as 20th seed

By: TONY MARKS Editor A 42-0 win over Berchmans Academy, at Clark Field, in Lafayette, gave the Sacred Heart Trojans a 6-4 record on the season and a 2-4 record in district play. The overall record was a 3-game improvement from last year’s mark under first-year head coach Jacob Aguillard.

Football season ends for VPHS Bulldogs

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Ville Platte High closed out the regular season on a down note with a 55-28 loss against Church Point. Tyrese Boast and Luke Baudoin combined for eight touchdowns on the night. Boast broke free for scores from 75, 65, 35, and 10 yards out.
