Staff Report The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics K-9 Unit, on Friday, May 13, at approximately 3 p.m., conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck in the Chataignier area.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Brandon Christopher Aymond, 34, Ville Platte, was arrested May 12, 2022, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for domestic abuse battery.

Missing girl is reported

Chief Neal Lartigue with the Ville Platte Police Department is seeking assistance locating 17 year old Ashantai Soileau. Information received has determined that Ashantai left her residence sometime on May 15th or 16th and possibly left with an older male of Honduran descent.

On May 7, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 8100 Blk. of Bond Rd located in the Reddell area in reference to someone being shot in the leg.
