Staff Report Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reports a vehicle accident with injuries and one fatality. On Wednesday, June 1, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to the intersection of U.S. Hwy 167 and Freddie Dunn Street.

LaFleur is arrested for monetary instrument abuse

Staff Report Twenty eight-year-old Beau Alexander LaFleur, of Ville Platte, is in jail after allegedly stealing an approximate $600 thousand in checks from the U.S. Postal Service in the Lafayette area.

Arrest is made for attempted second degree murder

Chief Lartigue reports arrest for multiple charges including attempted second degree murder. On May 16, 2022 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Street in reference to an injured male subject.

Cooperative endeavor agreement is signed for new jail
