EPSO seeks escaped inmate

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department is looking for an inmate who escaped on the 28 of May 2023. The escaped inmate was in custody for drug and gun charges. The escaped inmate is believed to still be in the Evangeline parish area.

Louisiana State Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting

Acadia Parish- The Eunice Police Department requested Troopers to investigate an officer-involved shooting on James Place near Perchville Road in Acadia Parish. One subject was shot and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.

Other escapee is apprehended

Christopher Tezeno, the other prisoner who escaped from the Ville Platte city jail on Saturday, May 13, has been apprehended today, May 19, Chief Al Perry Thomas confirmed. More information will be reported when it becomes available.

VP juvenile is caught

The suspect allegedly involved in a shooting last Friday in Ville Platte at the intersection of Coreil Street and Magnolia Street was apprehended without incident on Thursday, May 18, at the Ville Platte High School graduation.

An investigation by the Mamou Police Department lead to the arrest of Jaziah Skinner, 15, of VillePlatte for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Vindezz Thibodeaux, 22, of Eunice, for Principle to Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Escapees are sought

Two individuals, identified as Christopher Tezeno and Anthony Tezeno, have escaped from the Ville Platte City Jail and are being sought by police officers, according to Chief Al Perry Thomas. Both individuals escaped around 6 p.m. on Saturday, May, 13.

Chief confirms shooting

Ville Platte Chief of Police Al Perry Thomas has confirmed a young Black male was shot at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 12, near the intersection of Coreil Street and Magnolia Street.
