On Monday, November 4, 2024 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver on Miller’s Lake Road traveling east towards Ville Platte. A bolo was sent out to all units with a description of the vehicle.

15-Year-old is killed; suspect is charged with negligent homicide

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that, after midnight on Thursday, October 31, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a call about a 15-year-old juvenile being shot at a home on N. Morein St. The call was made by Christopher Marquees, age 31.

Sheriff receives award, issues four-year report

Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles R. Guillory was inducted into the Louisiana First Responders Christian Association Hall of Fame on Friday, October 25. It was a recognition from the Association for his hard work, and dedication as a leader in the field.
