Ville Platte Chief of Police A. Perry Thomas reported on the recent disappearance of 16-year-old Dajavon Wilson, a Mamou resident who reportedly went missing from Ville Platte. Wilson was reported missing by his family on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Ville Platte Police Department arrested 52-year-old Elrick Gallow and charged him with the Second Degree Murder of Keabreonna “KeKe” Doucet.

Arrest is made in connection with missing woman

The Ville Platte Police Department has confirmed the arrest of Elrick J. Gallow, 52, of Baton Rouge, in connection with the disappearance of Keabreonna Doucet. Gallow is charged with second degree murder and is being held in the Evangeline Parish jail on no bond.

Fontenot is charged with attempted second degree murder

Around 8:30 pm, on Thursday, December 5, 23-year-old Kendrez Thomas of Ville Platte confronted Keeveon Merced Fontenot of Mamou over a stolen gun where gunfire between the two would be exchanged.

Arrest is made in VP homicide

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports an update to the September 14 shooting that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old female and injuries to a 26-year-old male and a 27-year-old male near the intersection of Huey P. Long and Reed Street.
