James Stephens Montessori was placed on lockdown because of a shooting that occurred in the area around 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.
According to the Ville Platte Police Department, no one was injured. One suspect was arrested but was released after video evidence revealed five other individuals were involved and shot at the suspect who was initially arrested.
