Suspect is wanted in pharmacy burglary

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery which took place in Pine Prairie on January 20. The alleged incident occurred at Fuselier’s Pharmacy. As part of its investigation, the sheriff’s office released a video of the robbery.

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Department, in January 2025, conducted a saturated patrol in the parish looking for impaired drivers. Deputies were looking for traffic infractions to conduct a stop for safety purposes.

On December 20, 2024, narcotic agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, while conducting criminal patrol, observed a vehicle with no license plate visible obstructing the public passage on Court and Hickory Street, in Ville Platte.

Curfew is issued

At the urging of first responders, Evangeline Parish Police Jury President Kevin Veillon has announced that Evangeline Parish will impose a curfew for this evening beginning at 7:00 PM through 7:00 AM tomorrow morning. We urge essential personnel only on the roads during curfew.
