Residents are warned of IRS scam

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is informing the public to be vigilant of an on-going IRS scam. According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the IRS will never contact you by phone or text. The IRS strictly contacts you by U.S. Mail. If you receive a text, it is a scam.
