By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of a set of skeletal remains that were found on December 21, 2024, near the Martin Luther King Center in Ville Platte. The remains have been identified as the body of 16-year-old Dajavon Wilson.

On December 4, 2024, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the Pizza Hut in the City of Ville Platte to take a complaint that there was possible abuse of a child on Jean Pierre Road in the Ville Platte area. The complainant was concerned relative.

VILLE PLATTE — Chief Al Perry Thomas reported the Ville Platte Police Department is currently investigating two shootings which happened in the past week. The first shooting was reported at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, near the 900 block of N. Chataignier Street.
