COMMERCE, Texas - The Grambling State Tigers softball opened play at the Lion Invitational with a split on Wednesday, defeating Southeast Missouri Redhawks softball, 8–1, before falling to East Texas A&M Lions softball, 10–8, at John Cain Family Field.

Vanderbilt is one of seven teams in the nation that remains unbeaten (Arizona, Duke, Iowa St., Miami (OH), Michigan and Nebraska). The SEC leads the nation with nine teams in the Top 40 of the NCAA’s NET rankings. The SEC is the top-ranked conference according to KenPom. Last year, the SEC’s +22.
