LSUE’s JUCO run ends in loss to Blinn

LSUE Athletics GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – LSU Eunice Baseball wrapped up its first trip to the JUCO World Series after a 16-6 setback to Blinn College on Wednesday at Sam Suplizio Field. The Bengals (47-13) finished in fifth place in the 10-team field.

McNeese wins SLC Tournament, headed to NCAA Regional

By: RAYMOND PARTSCH III LSN Sports Editor LAKE CHARLES - The McNeese Cowgirls are headed back to an NCAA Regional. For the first time since 2023, McNeese will play in the NCAA Tournament, as the Cowgirls earned a spot in the Bryan-College Station Regional.

Annual Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches Awards Banquet is held

BATON ROUGE --- The coach who led LSU to the promised land of the NCAA Final Four in 2006, along with a legendary high school coach from Lafayette, were the major honorees at Saturday’s 52nd Annual Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches Awards Banquet.

By: HEATHER BOGARD Associate Editor Sacred Heart High School senior Sidney Fruge, a barrel racer in the rodeo club, officially signed with McNeese State University in Lake Charles on Monday, April 13, to join the school’s rodeo team beginning in the fall.
