Mr. Reed, Miss Whaley united in Holy Matrimony

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, provided the setting for a lovely ceremony on Saturday, April 27, 2019, uniting Miss Peyton Maria Whaley and Mr. Stuart Bryan Reed in Holy Matrimony, with the groom’s uncle, Monsigner Michael Magee, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Guy Whaley and Christy Perron Whaley of Sunset and is the granddaughter of Donnie and Cynthia Perron of Port Barre and Anthony and Joyce Whaley of Whiteville. She is a 2010 graduate of Port Barre High School and is currently employed as an administrative assistant with Heard, McElroy and Vestal Accounting Firm.
The groom is the son of Kurt Reed and the late Patti Magee Reed of Baton Rouge and is the grandson of Della Reed and the late Lester Reed of Eunice and Edna Prince and the late Estis Magee of Baton Rouge. He is a 2002 graduate of Tara High School and is currently employed as a painter at Brown’s Painting.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor length, light gold charmeuse gown with ivory tulle and lace overlay. The lacy, sheath gown was accentuated by eyelash trim and slightly caped sleeves. The overall look was finished with a cathedral length veil of eyelash lace. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of ranunculus, a variety of ivory and blush garden roses and accented with smilax and eucalyptus.
Attending as Matron of Honor was Chandler Gaiennie, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included the bride’s sisters, Carmen and Christian Whaley; the bride’s future sister-in-law, Cameron Cormier; and the brides friends, Hannah Sink and Kaitlynn Breaux.
Avery Ludwick, a family friend, served as the flower girl. Lyndsey Ardoin, the bride’s cousin, and Terri Philbin, a friend of the bride, served as readers during the ceremony.
Serving as Best Man was Jimmy Gaiennie, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included the bride’s brother, Ashton Whaley and the groom’s friends, Richard Brown, Sam Magee, Jace Griffin, and Corey Graves.
The groom’s brother, Chris Reed and friend, Chris Madere, served as ushers. Nolan Reed, son of the bride and groom, served as the ring bearer.
A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Little Big Cup in Arnaudville.
Following a honeymoon to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, the couple will reside in Monroe.
