Library cardholders can check out Louisiana State Parks with new program

BATON ROUGE — Library cardholders in 18 parishes can now visit Louisiana's State Parks as part of a pilot program designed to get people exploring Louisiana. The program, called Check Out Louisiana State Parks, will launch Tuesday, October 1.

Miss Amelia Mickal is the reigning Queen Cotton LXIX. She will crown her successor Saturday, September 21, at the Cotton Coronation starting at 4 p.m. at the North Side Civic Center in Ville Platte. On Friday, October 11, the festival will open with its annual “Fais-Do-Do” starting at 6 p.m.
