Changes coming to USPS rates and delivery times

LSN Report The United States Postal Service is implementing several changes starting July 13, including increased postage rates and pending adjustments to service standards. The price of a First- Class Mail Forever stamp will increase by 5 cents, from 73 cents to 78 cents.

Staff Report On July 14, 1918, American troops, under the command of General John J. Pershing, marched in Paris for the annual Bastille Day Parade. Among those marching was a corporal who was a native of Church Point and who had since moved to raise his family in Chataignier, Josien Ardoin.

Vatican accepts investigation into ‘Little Cajun Saint’ Charlene Richard

The Advocate The Vatican has officially accepted and approved the investigation into the life of Charlene Richard, “the Little Cajun Saint,” according to the Charlene Richard Foundation. Charlene, a Richard native, died from acute lymphatic leukemia when she was 12 years old.
