Martel Ardoin Jr., better known as Mark Layne, is the 2025 honoree of Le Grand Hoorah. Each year’s honoree is selected to acknowledge to our region’s culture bearers and ambassadors. Layne has been a familiar voice at KVPI since 1971.

Leakage from Allen Parish landfill contaminates Cypress Creek

By: TONY MARKS Editor CYPRESS CREEK – What should be clear blue water flowing along the creek banks is now black as oil. The reason is waste that is leaking from Timberlane Landfill, which is located in Allen Parish near the intersection of Pawnee Road and U.S. Hwy 165, north of Oakdale.
