With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting all sports, there was a real possibility of the high school basketball season in Louisian not being completed, much less having an actual postseason.

The Lady Panthers wrapped up the regular season with a pair of defeats.

There were a lot things going right for Trojans except for one thing.

Prior to last Friday's contest, the Lady Bulldogs had not played an actual game since January 19th due to COVID-19 protocols.

With Monday's 49-36 victory over parish rival Mamou, the Pine Prairie girls basketball team picked up their third win in the past four games.

The familiar sounds of sneakers squeaking, basketballs bouncing up the court, or the sound of the buzzer at the end of a game have not been heard a lot lately.

Sacred Heart tipped off play this week with a lopsided defeat, but the Trojans rebounded nicely the following night with a convincing victory.
