Pitching and timely hitting lead Mamou to wins over Abbeville

By: TONY MARKS Editor Tyson Bryant threw a no-hitter, and Ethan McCauley followed it up with a perfect game as Mamou swept a double-header against Abbeville on Saturday. In the first game of the twin bill, which was a 10-0 Mamou win, Bryant struck out 9 batters and allowed only 1 walk in 5 innings.

Season ends for Trojans basketball teams

Lady Bulldogs win in overtime to reach quarterfinals for first time in nine years

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - For the first time since 2017, the Ville Platte High girls’ basketball team reached the quarterfinals. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the third round of the playoffs after a thrilling 63-57 overtime win on Monday night against Doyle.

Lady Trojans come from behind twice to advance to quarterfinals

Three parish teams earn a spot in boys’ playoffs

By: TONY MARKS Editor As another regular season of boys’ basketball drew to a close, three parish teams punched their tickets for postseason with hopes of reaching Burton Coliseum for the state tournament.

Back in session

By: TONY MARKS Editor After floundering the past several years in a state of dormancy, the Sacred Heart fishing team reincarnated and is back competing in tournaments. Now that it is back in session, the team wasted no time in finding renewed success on the open water.
