LSU Baseball won its 8th College World Series this past Sunday, and it was the team’s second national championship in the last three years. That is an impressive accomplishment. For me, though, this championship is a little sweeter than the past ones. Why, you ask? Well, let’s borrow Mr.
The 6U Softball All Stars won the Central Region Tournament. Players are Aria Montelaro, Anna Kate Latiolais, Piper Lafleur, Marissa Fruge, Remi Kate Ortego, Adaline Johnson, Livie Rose Launey, Ellis Fontenot, Eloise Guillory, Maddie Frank, Khloe Edwards, and Maddison Griffin.

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - The Swamp Pop Capital of the World hosted the Diamond Youth Baseball District 7 Tournaments for the 6U and 7U teams. On the same day LSU dogpiled after winning its 8th College World Series, both host teams from Ville Platte won the district tournament.

The Ville Platte 8U All Stars competed in the district tournament this past weekend in Leesville. The team went 5-0 for the weekend, outscoring their opponents 64-6. They competed against Fort Johnson (16-0) Fairview (17-0), Mamou (11-0), Oakdale (14-4), and Fairview (6-2).

By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - As the Mamou Green Demons work out this summer ahead of a new football season, it is a case of good news and bad news. The bad news is the number of kids is lower than the number last year. The team now has roughly 47 kids in the program. Last year, the number was 65.
