Ball control, big defense result in Basile’s win

By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor The Basile Bearcats relied on good old-fashioned football in an important district contest at home against Merryville last Friday, using defense, ball control, and a couple of clutch interceptions to earn a 7–0 win over the Grand Lake Hornets.

By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - Ten yards separated the Pine Prairie football team from its first points of the season. With the clock running and the Panthers trailing 48-0 against Crowley, Pine Prairie recovered a fumble inside Gent territory.

PPHS remains winless after loss to Church Point

By: TONY MARKS Editor CHURCH POINT - The Church Point football team stretched its district winning streak to six games, dating back to last season after a 67-0 win over Pine Prairie Friday night. With the win, the Bears improved this season’s mark to 5-1 and are 3-0 in district play.
