I have an appreciation for kickers. I guess it’s because Sacred Heart never really had one. The last good kicker the Trojans had was my freshman year in 1996 when they had David Troya, an exchange student from Ecuador who played soccer.

NEW ORLEANS - Field goals dominated the 48th edition of the Bayou Classic as Southern and Grambling combined to put seven kicks through the uprights. None bigger, though, came with 7 seconds on the clock as Grambling’s Garrett Urban launched the game winner to put his team ahead 29-26.

Perry Vidrine, Farm Bureau, and Richard Guillory all share one thing in common. They are all champions of this year’s Ville Platte Gazette football contests. Vidrine won first place in the reader’s division and placed ahead of Jody Ortego in second and Terry Guidry in third.
