By: HENRY VALIER New Orleans Pelicans Robert (Bob) E. Lee Pettit Jr., an LSU star who went on to an amazing NBA career that earned him an induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and his selection as one of the greatest 75 NBA players of all time, died on Sept. 24, 2026. He was 93.

By: TONY MARKS Editor OPELOUSAS - The Sacred Heart defense held Opelousas Catholic to 26 total yards of offense in the first half of the teams’ district opener Thursday night. In the second half, though, both offenses found their footing as the Trojans went on to earn a 17-10 win over the Vikings.

By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - The Pine Prairie Panthers fell to 0-3 on the season after losing their home opener 48-0 last Friday night against the Ringgold Redskins. After a squib kick to begin the game, Pine Prairie started the game on its 47-yard line.
Mamou’s Zamaurri Brown accounted for 216 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns in a 26-25 loss to Booker T. Washington (New Orleans).

By: TONY MARKS Editor A missed opportunity on a two-point conversion attempt toward the end of the game sent the Mamou Green Demons to a 26-25 loss against Booker T. Washington (New Orleans) and a 1-2 record. In the loss, Mamou as a team ran for a total of 232 yards.
