LAKE CHARLES - The McNeese Cowgirls are headed back to an NCAA Regional.
For the first time since 2023, McNeese will play in the NCAA Tournament, as the Cowgirls earned a spot in the Bryan-College Station Regional.

CARENCRO - With a total score of 674 and a total to par gross of +98, the Sacred Heart golf team finished as state runner-up at the 2026 LHSAA Golf State Championships in Division IV. The championship was held Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, at Farm d’Allie Golf Club.

EUNICE - Daniel Guillory represented the game tying run in Sacred Heart’s playoff game against district rival St. Edmund on Saturday. He reached base after being hit by a pitch to lead off the top of the seventh inning with his Trojans trailing 3-2.

As the old saying goes, the last out is the toughest one to get.
For the Sacred Heart softball team, the last two outs were the toughest to get as the Lady Trojans were two outs away from their second trip to the state tournament in Sulphur in the last three seasons.

After dismantling the program in 2020 because of COVID-19, Sacred Heart brought back its varsity golf program in 2024. This year, the team competed in several tournaments, including the District tournament on Monday, April 20, at Atchafalaya Golf Course in Patterson.
