After a week off, the Ville Platte Dixie Youth Major (12U) and Minor (10U) All-Stars will be back in action beginning today as both squads compete in their respective district tournaments.
The Major All-Stars will travel to Mamou for their chance at a district title and will play Dequincy at 5:30 p.m. A win over Dequincy would put Ville Platte in a 7:30 p.m. contest against the winner of Oakdale and Pine Prairie tomorrow. A loss and the All-Stars would have a 5:30 p.m. start against the loser of that same contest.
Meanwhile the Minor All-Stars must travel to Ragley for their quest at a district title. Ville Platte begins play at 7:30 p.m. today against Mamou. If the All-Stars should happen to take down their cross-parish rivals, they would find themselves in a 7:30 p.m. game against the winner of Vernon National and South Beauregard tomorrow.
A loss to Mamou and Ville Platte would have to come back tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. and play the loser of those same two teams.
Championships for both tournaments take place on Tuesday.
