Sacred Heart looks to secure top eight finish in ranking

Last Friday night, the Sacred Heart Trojans (5-3, 2-2) did what they needed to do when they demolished Slaughter Charter 35-6, in order to move their way up the power ranking so they may have the chance to host a first round playoff game come November 9.
With that win, the Trojans stepped up one spot to No. 11 in the Division IV ranking. If Sacred Heart wishes to continue their climb to No. 8 or better, a place that would guarantee them a first round game at Soileau-Landry Field, they must continue their winning ways.
Tomorrow night the Trojans will get that chance when they travel to Franklin to take on the Hanson Memorial Tigers (2-6, 1-4) in a non-district contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Last Friday, Sacred Heart took control of the game offensively and defensively, racking up 349 yards of total offense and holding Slaughter to 165 yards.
“We knew going into last week’s game how big it was for us to not only win, but for us to dominate the game,” stated Sacred Heart head coach Josh Harper. “Our players did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage all night long. For us to get this next win tomorrow night, we will have to continue doing just that.”
