It was not a good night for three Evangeline Parish girls basketball teams, as they took an early exit from the 2019-20 LHSAA playoffs.
In Class 3A, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers put up the fight of their lives, but could not push past the Bossier Lady Bearkats in a heartbreaking 55-53 loss at home.
Pine Prairie finishes the year with an overall record of 21-12.
In Division IV, the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans took one on the chin against the No. 1 seed Ouachita Christian Lady Eagles in Monroe, as they fell 70-19.
The Lady Trojans end their season with an 11-6 record.
Finally, in Class 1A, the Basile Lady Bearcats did not have enough offensive fire power in their game, as they dropped a 61-24 contest at Northwood-Lena.
The Lady Bearcats completed their year with a record of 8-20.
Here is a rundown of those games played.

Bossier vs. Pine Prairie
Pine Prairie took control of the game early on, scoring 12 points in the first quarter to earn a three-point edge over Bossier.
The second quarter belonged to the Lady Bearkats, as they got back on track offensively. Bossier found the goal more often in the period and outpaced the Lady Panthers 16-11 to own a 25-23 lead heading into the locker room.
The final two quarters were very tight in terms of points scored. The Lady Bearkats edged Pine Prairie 14-13 in the third period to extend their advantage to three points.
Kameron Allen tried to pull the Lady Panthers back into the lead in the final quarter, scoring 12 of her game high 30 points, however it was not enough to get Pine Prairie over the hump.

Sacred Heart vs.
Ouachita Christian
This first round match-up was pretty much over from the start. The Lady Eagles did not hold back in the first quarter, earning a 27-3 lead over Sacred Heart.
The second quarter was much the same. Ouachita Christian came close to doubling their point total, outscoring the Lady Trojans 22-3.
Sacred Heart got a tad more offense in the final two quarters, scoring 13 points over that time span.

Basile vs. Northwood
In a game similar to the Sacred Heart contest, the Basile Lady Bearcats had a rough time trying to pick up any momentum on the offensive side of the floor. By the time the first quarter had come to a close, Northwood held a 10-9 lead.
The Lady Gators expanded on that lead in the second period. Holding Basile to only six points, Northwood gained another nine points on the Lady Bearcats, as they went into halftime with a 25-15 lead.
The third quarter was the final nail in the Lady Bearcat coffin, as Northwood edged Basile 20-4. The Lady Gators finished the game off by running past the Lady Bearcats 16-5 in the final quarter.
