PINE PRAIRIE -- The Pine Prairie Panthers and Lady Panthers took to their home floor this past Friday night to take on the Crowley High Gents and Ladies in non-district action.
It was a bag of mixed emotions for the two Pine Prairie teams, as the Lady Panthers pushed past Crowley 52-44 in an exciting overtime win. In the nightcap, the Panthers could not produce enough offense, as they fell 58-19 to the Gents.
Here is a rundown of the two games.
Crowley (G)
vs. Pine Prairie
The Lady Panthers got off to a slow start falling behind Crowley 13-6 after one quarter of play. Nevertheless, Pine Prairie did not let that deter their tenacity as they outscored the Ladies 16-11 in the second quarter.
The third quarter saw Crowley regain the advantage and finish with a 37-30 lead. But, the Lady Panthers had some left in their gas tank, tying the game up in the fourth quarter and then outpacing the Ladies 9-1 in the overtime period.
Kameron Allen led Pine Prairie with 25 points and Asia George added 18.
Crowley (B)
vs. Pine Prairie
Crowley dominated from the beginning, taking a 20-0 lead after one period and a 35-5 advantage into the locker room.
Things improved a little for the Panthers as they managed six points in the third and eight points in the fourth quarter.
