It was a rough outing for most of the parish teams as only the Pine Prairie Panthers and the Ville Platte Bulldogs (see story above) could secure a win Friday night.
With all of the teams now in district play, wins are critical; not only for district positioning, but also for power points.
Here is a rundown of those games from across the parish.

Pine Prairie (B)
vs. Eunice
Behind Isaiah Payne’s 32 points, the Pine Prairie Panthers picked up another win in district and improved their record to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in district. Pine Prairie will host Northwest High on Tuesday in another crucial league game.
The Panthers jumped out to a 19-15 lead after one quarter of play. In the second period, Payne knocked down 15 points to help Pine Prairie gain a 44-32 lead heading into the locker room.
The Panthers were out scored 15-13 in the third quarter and 24-20 in the final period despite Raylin Thomas’ eight for eight performance at the free throw line, but had enough of a cushion to hold off the Bobcats.
JJ Sims chipped in 18 points for Pine Prairie, while Thomas added 16 points.

Pine Prairie (G)
vs. Eunice
Eunice leapt out to a commanding 20-8 lead and never looked back, as they downed Pine Prairie 60-47. Things did turn around offensively for the Lady Panthers in the second quarter after they out performed the Lady Bobcats 19-11.
However, Eunice continued to find ways to stay on top, earning a 14-8 advantage in the third quarter and a 15-12 edge in the final period.
Pine Prairie was led by Asia George who totaled 13 points. Kameron Allen and Brianna Wall each put up 11 in a losing cause.
The Lady Panthers drop to 15-8 on the year and 2-3 in district play. They will host Northwest High Tuesday night.

Crowley (B) vs. Mamou
The Mamou Demons began the game matching the Crowley Gents almost point for point, as they trailed by only one, 12-11, at the end of the period. But, Crowley found a way to slow down Mamou in the second period, coming away with a 13-9 advantage.
A 12-8 edge for Crowley in the third quarter, gave the Gents a 37-28 lead after three quarters of play. Crowley out performed themselves defensively in the final period, holding Mamou to six total points.
Leandre Harrison scored 12 points to lead the Demons on the night. Mamou will travel to Eunice Tuesday night.

Sacred Heart (B)
vs. North Central
The Sacred Heart Trojans fell to 5-13 on the year and 1-1 in District 5-1A play after a 98-29 loss to the North Central Hurricanes.
Sacred Heart had a rough time of it early on in the game, getting out scored 17-3 in the first quarter and 27-8 in the second period.
Offensively, the Trojans had their best effort in the third quarter, garnering 15 points to offset North Central’s 32 points. However, Sacred Heart could only produce three points in the final period.
The Trojans will host Opelousas Catholic on Tuesday night.

Basile (B) vs.
Grand Lake
The Basile Bearcats battled back from an early first quarter deficit only to fall apart offensively in the second half in a 72-54 loss to the Grand Lake Hornets.
Basile fell behind 24-15 after one quarter of play, but out scored the Hornets 26-10 in the second period to hold a 41-34 lead heading into the locker room.
But, the Bearcats could only muster 13 total points in the second half, including five in the third quarter, as Grand Lake blew past them in the final two quarters.
Basile will travel to Hamilton Christian Tuesday.
