The Pine Prairie Panthers will look to bounce back from a 34-0 loss to the Oberlin Tigers when they host another Allen Parish football team, the Oakdale Warriors tomorrow night. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Pine Prairie head coach Yves Prince is hoping that his young squad is able to turn the corner with a good showing against the Warriors.
“Right now, we want to make sure that we improve every time we take the field, rather that is at practice or in the game,” stated Prince. “We have some work still to do. Our offense is still unsure of themselves and our secondary still needs a lot of work. I was impressed the way out defense played in the second half against Oberlin. We are going to need for that side of the ball to continue playing well until our offense comes around. That is what happens when you have to play a number of freshmen and sophomores. We are trying to make it a simple as possible for them so that they are able to grasp what we want to accomplish.”
Oakdale comes into the game with a 1-0 record after a 13-0 win over Elton this past Friday. The Warriors only have a handful of players back this season and are under a new head coach.
