Parish track athletes qualify for regionals

It has been a tremendous year for the parish high school track teams. Recently, those schools competed in their respective district meets. Out of those meets, several individual athletes were able to find spots in the regional meet.
The Sacred Heart Trojan and Lady Trojan track teams will have the following athletes compete at ULL on Tuesday:
Nick Perry, 200M; Tristan Soileau, 1600M; Michael Cole Fontenot, 3200M; Evyn Soileau, 110M Hurdles and 300M Hurdles; Devin Nelams, Discus; Sam Hollier, Javelin; Anna Clair Parrott, 100M Hurdles; Carley Cloud, 100M Hurdles; Torie Fontenot, 300M Hurdles and Long Jump; Blaire Lafleur, Javelin, High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump; Girl’s 400M Relay (Amanda Bergeron, Torie Fontenot, Carley Cloud and Anna Claire Parrott); Girl’s 800M Relay (Amanda Bergeron, Torie Fontenot, Ava Shiver and Anna Claire Parrott).
The Mamou Demons and Lady Demons were also fortunate to have athletes make it to the regional meet which will be held Wednesday at JH Williams Middle School in Abbeville. Here are those athletes and their events:
Kaitee Bertrand, 1600M and 3200M; Payton Vidrine, 100M and 200M; Boy’s 400M Relay (Bernard O’neail, Payton Vidrine, Leondre Harrison and Kyrian Green); Boy’s 800M Relay (Bernard O’neail, Payton Vidrine, Devin Papillion and Kyrian Green).
Finally, the Pine Prairie Panthers and Lady Panthers, competing in the same regional as Mamou, have qualified a number of participants to that meet. Here are those competitors.
Asia George, 200M, Long Jump and Triple Jump; Emily Vidrine, 1600M and 3200M.
