Mamou hosts Crowley in district contest tomorrow

It will be another tough task for the Mamou Green Demons tomorrow night, as they host the Crowley Gents in a District 5-3A contest.
Mamou (0-6, 0-3) is still looking for that first win of the season, and the struggles on the offensive side of the ball have not helped the Demons at all this year. Coming into tomorrow night’s game, Mamou is averaging a woeful 3.1 points per game, and have only scored on three possessions all year long.
Defensively, the Green Demons are playing about as good as can be expected. For a unit that stays out on the field most of the game, the Mamou defense has held their own in spurts.
If the Demons wish to get on the board in terms of wins, they will have to face a tough, talented Crowley squad that is 3-3 on the year and 1-2 in district play. The Gents fell to the Iota Bulldogs, one of the top teams in the state, 41-20 this past week. They are lead by head coach Jeptha Wall, son of legendary coach Dutton Wall.
Crowley averages 30 points per game on offense and surrenders 26.1 points per game defensively. The Gents have put up 30 points or more in four of their six games played and have held their opponent to under 10 points twice this season.
