The Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs evened out their District 6-2A record at 4-4 with an 8-0 blanking of the Welsh Lady Greyhounds. With the win, Ville Platte finishes the season at 9-6 and will await the release of the LHSAA playoff brackets that were due out yesterday.
Across town, the Sacred Heart Trojans gained a solid district win, defeating arch rival Opelousas Catholic 5-3. The Trojans are now 13-11-1 on the year and 3-1 in league play. Sacred Heart will face Hanson Memorial today at home. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Mamou Demons blasted their way past the Crowley Gents 18-4 to improve to 9-13 overall and 4-5 in district competition. The Demons host Church Point today in a league contest. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

Ville Platte vs. Welsh
Hannah Monier was spectacular on the mound for Ville Platte as she pitched a complete game no-hitter against Welsh. Monier struck out 12 and only walked five in the win.
Ville Platte scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the first when Monier walked, stole second and came to the plate on a Welsh defensive error.
The Lady Bulldogs added one more run in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth.
Madison Monier went 3 for 4 to lead Ville Platte at the plate. Hailey Bordelon was 2 for 3 and Jenna Smith collected two hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
Sacred Heart vs.
Opelousas Catholic
Throwing against one of the top teams in the state in Division IV, Kyle Miller went six and one third innings, surrendering three runs on five hits to pace Sacred Heart’s win over Opelousas Catholic.
The Trojans took the early lead after plating two runs in the top of the first inning. Wesley Launey led off with a double and came home to score on a triple off of the bat of JT Harper. Garrett Fontenot followed that with a double of his own to score Harper.
Opelousas Catholic picked up single runs in the second and the fourth to tie the game back up. Sacred Heart retook the lead in the sixth with a solo run, only to have the Vikings match that in the bottom half of the inning.
The difference in the game came in the top of the seventh when Drew Bordelon and Alec Gotro each reached home plate to seal the win for the Trojans.
Harper was 2 for 4 with a double, a triple and two RBI to lead Sacred Heart.
Mamou vs. Crowley
Landon Deshotels cracked two home runs, including a grand slam home run, to help lead Mamou to a huge win over Crowley.
It was all Mamou from the start, as Deshotels blasted his first home rum of the game, a two-run shot with Kayden Serie aboard, in the top of the first to give the Demons an early 2-0 lead.
Mamou added to their lead in the second inning, collecting four more runs. A two run third was followed by a 10 run fourth, which included Deshotels grand salami.
Crowley earned their first run in the third inning and then picked up their final three runs in the fifth.
Deshotels went 3 for 4 with eight RBI to lead Mamou at the plate. Tanner Atchinson was also 3 for 4. Serie was 1 for 1 with three runs scored.
